History of Porkkala.

The museum’s location has a unique historical significance, having once been part of the Soviet Union during a lease period from 1944 to 1956, known as the Porkkala Parenthesis. Degerö Gård, where the museum is situated, served as the second Soviet border station in the Porkkala area.

Prior to its transformation into a museum, the site operated as a safari joy ride destination, offering tank rides and various activities for bachelor parties and group tours.

The museum will have it’s opening in the near future.
